“My son (or daughter), attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes: keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV
I don’t know about you but this verse excites me. Every time I read it – my heart jumps for joy because I feel like I’ve discovered a secret message! Just so you know I am seriously a kid at heart and love a grand adventure or a good mystery to solve. So, as I began this journey of studying God’s word – the adventure began! It has been a passion of mine to read through the scriptures tapping into what I like to call, “God’s Treasure Chest.” Hidden nuggets of gold, sparkling jewels, and gems. Priceless items that hold the greatest value one could ever imagine! I started to collect them one by one and stored them inside my heart using them as keys to unlocking certain areas of my life. How incredibly awesome this journey has been.
So today I want to share some of those priceless “finds” with you.
Wisdom seems to be one that I am always chasing God for – maybe you are too…so here are a few verses found in the Scripture’s:
Show me Thy ways, Oh Lord, teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth and teach me…Psalm 25:4-5a
The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:130
Make Thy face shine upon Thy servant; and teach me Thy statutes. Psalm 119:135
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5
Trust is another area that seems to be difficult for us at times. Trusting God for the outcome isn’t always easy. Here are some truths to hold onto during such times:
Trust in the Lord with all Thy heart, and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct they paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily, thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart, commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:3-5
And here’s a few on strength:
The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
I encourage you to start diving into God’s Treasure Chest – start collecting those priceless “gems.” Build your collection of Scriptures that speak to your heart and soul. Use them daily and see what amazing things God has in store for you! Your journey awaits….
